Stacy Lawhead, LPC
About Stacy
I am a nationally certified and state licensed therapist with 10 years of experience working with individuals and families in a multitude of settings including: outpatient, residential inpatient care, emergency psychiatric hospitalization, criminal justice, schools, and community crisis response. I specialize in navigating complex systems and managing crisis.
Whether you are an individual seeking guidance in sorting through personal difficulties, or a family navigating the complexities of family dynamic, I believe every person's experience is unique and requires an individualized approach and treatment plan.
I practice from a broad and diverse range of sources to meet the specific needs of my patients. My work is heavily influenced by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Brief Strategic Family Therapy, Problem Solving Therapy, Structural/Interactional Family Therapy, and Systems Theory.
Services
Individuals
People seek to initiate therapy for many different reasons and therefore may have different expectations. This process can often be overwhelming and finding the right therapist is important. In my work as a professional I want to work with the client collaboratively so as to provide a client-centered approach to individual treatment. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is safe, respectful and without judgment.
Families
It is true when they say that there is no manual when it comes to being a partner and raising children. In my experience I have observed that when one person is struggling, the entire system is impacted. Therefore it is necessary to include all individuals involved or effected in understanding the challenges and creating the solutions. Utilizing short-term, structured, and problem-focused approach treatment we can reduce behavioral problems in adolescents and strengthen relationships. Heavily influenced by Brief Strategic Family Therapy my treatment operates on the premise that families are the strongest and most enduring force in the development of children and adolescents.
